Chic on the Cheap Living Showroom

The Living Showroom is an experiment in affordable home design.  Mark Dalton took on the challenge of completely renovating an old 1950′s ranch home with the same high end amenities that his wealthy clients asked for.  But of course, this redesign would have to be affordable.

What happened is nothing short of a miracle!   Mark’s complete home renovation was finished in just 28 days and $11,000 UNDER budget!

Mark invite clients into his home to show them examples of how they can create their own functional, beautiful and attainable home design. The showroom is a living, breathing example of a before and after photo-album.  We’ve included some of those images here, but invite you to make an appointment to see for yourself.

Kitchen

We kept the old cabinet frames but replaced the doors. We added closeout marble to the floor and the granite countertops were remnants found at a marble yard. All the kitchen appliances were bought on sale . The total kitchen renovation came to $7,500.

Master Bathroom

We kept the original cabinets in the guest bath, but added Home Depot marble tiles to the countertop for only $1.63 a square foot.

We found a high end $500 mother of pearl sink on clearance for $150 and paired it with an $89 Home Depot faucet.

Drapery panel on shower was $13 on clearance at Pier One.

Master Bedroom

Instead of replacing the corner windows, we draped the whole wall to look like there’s an entire wall of windows. Then we gave the room a fresh coat of paint and some crown molding.

Office/Porch

This room only needed some paint and TLC. We ripped up the old carpet to find a quarry tile floor! And the walls were made of pecky cypress.
